Quick Start

Getting started with pip-ui-tkinter is straightforward.

Launching the App

Once installed, you can start the GUI from your terminal:

pip-ui-tkinter

Or, if you prefer to run it as a module:

python -m pip_ui

Basic Workflow

  1. Select an Interpreter: Use the toolbar at the top to pick which Python environment you want to manage. pip-ui-tkinter will show the active pip version for that environment.
  2. Choose a Command: Select a command (like install or list) from the left-hand navigator.
  3. Fill the Form: Enter package names, select files, or toggle options in the middle panel.
  4. Preview the Command: Watch the "Command Preview" area update in real-time.
  5. Run: Click Run (or press Ctrl+R) to execute the command. The output will stream into the log panel below the form.

Common Shortcuts

  • Ctrl+R: Run the current command.
  • Ctrl+F: Focus the command search box.
  • Esc: Close dialogs or cancel current focus.
